NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

SUFFICIENCY OF TEXTBOOKS AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
EDUCATION CODE 60119 and 60422

Notice is hereby given that the Governing Board of Education of the Baldwin Park Unified School District will consider input from the public regarding the Sufficiency of Textbooks and Instructional Materials for the 2024-2025 School Year, per Education Codes 60119 and 60422, during its Regular Meeting scheduled for September 24, 2024.
The District invites comments from community members interested in the workings of the school district to discuss the expenditure of state funds for Pupil Textbooks and Instructional Materials from the K-12 Incentive Program, and/or funds received for Instructional Materials from any state source during the fiscal year of 2024-2025.
 
The Public Hearing will take place as follows:

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE CITIZENS’ OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

 

The Board of Education of the Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking qualified, interested individuals to serve on a committee of community leaders, which will serve as the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure K and Measure AE school facilities bond program.

 

Due to the passage of Measure K on November 7, 2006, and Measure AE on November 6, 2018, Proposition 39 requires that the District establish a Citizens’ Oversight Committee to monitor project expenditures utilizing bond funds. All positions on the Committee are available to be filled. Baldwin Park residents over the age of 18, who meet the requirements may apply to serve on the Committee. Applications may be obtained by contacting the Office of the Superintendent at 626.962.3311 ext. 85201 or via the District’s website at www.bpusd.net.

 

The Baldwin Park Unified School District’s Board of Education will appoint members to the Citizen’s Oversight Committee upon recommendations by the selection subcommittee.
