Baldwin Park Unified is asking students, teachers, staff and community supporters to celebrate our school district during this year’s Best of San Gabriel Valley contest, now underway.
At Baldwin Park Unified, we never stop exploring new options for connecting with students and delivering the tools they need to tackle the challenges ahead. In the last two years alone, we have generated an incredible array of new opportunities for our students, including:
- New STEAM pathways at middle, junior high and high schools;
- Competitive middle school and high school robotics teams;
- Adding our award-winning dual-language immersion program to Sierra Vista High;
- A Districtwide science and design competition to replace the antiquated spelling bee;
- New digital classrooms, labs and library facilities;
- Partnerships with colleges and universities to create new higher education pathways.
These programs build on our successes. Baldwin Park is already distinguished by soaring graduation rates, including one of the state’s strongest continuation high school graduation rates.
Our efforts are recognized by the California School Boards Association, California Department of Education and California Association for Bilingual Education. Baldwin Park Unified schools have earned 14 state Gold Ribbons, received recognition for our model continuation high school and collected four statewide awards for our pioneering bilingual education program.
This fall, our latest Golden Bell from the School Boards Association recognized a community partnership that blends health, agriculture and sustainability. The program embodies a hallmark of a Baldwin Park Unified education: hands-on learning that provides multiple pathways for students to pursue their dreams.
This year, a Baldwin Park Unified campus is also in the running for the newly restored California Distinguished School Award – one of just 326 schools across the state.
