The effort focused on the multiculturalism emphasized in the English-Spanish program and included speeches students made to classmates and parents as they toured the altars.
Parents joined the celebration and created their own altar in front of the school remembering leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Cesar Chavez, Rosa Parks and Frida Kahlo.
