Three Baldwin Park Unified high school seniors were honored for their musical talents at the San Gabriel Valley Women's Club competition on Friday, March 14, with two students winning top awards and a scholarship.
Baldwin Park High School senior Jade Lopez took first place in the Classical Vocal category, while Sierra Vista High School senior Diego Santana won in the Classical Instrument category. Each winner will receive a $500 scholarship in recognition of their achievements.
Baldwin Park High School senior Wilfredo Calderon earned an honorable mention in the Classical Instrument category for his performance.
The annual competition showcases the talents of young musicians across the region, providing them with opportunities to advance their skills and receive financial support for their future endeavors.
"We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication," Baldwin Park Unified Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza said.
