The Fall 2024 Intra-District Open Enrollment transfer period is here! From November 1 through December 5, 2024, intra-District open enrollment applications will be available for students wishing to attend a school other than their assigned school for the 2025-2026 school year. Please find additional information below.
Eligibility
Parents of students residing within the Baldwin Park Unified School District boundaries may apply to enroll their children in any BPUSD school during this Open Enrollment period. This option is available for students entering Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Important Details
- Application Process: Open enrollment applications can be picked up at your child’s current school starting Friday, November 1, 2024.
- Selection: Enrollment in a school of choice will be determined by a lottery system (not on a first-come, first-served basis) once the application period closes.
- Waitlist: A waitlist will be established for any additional openings; late applications will be added through subsequent lotteries.
- Notification: Schools will notify applicants if their application was approved, denied, or placed on a waiting list.
- Availability: Approval of Open Enrollment applications is based on space availability at the requested school.
- School Transitions: When a student moves from elementary to middle school or from middle to high school, they will return to their original school of residence.
- Parents wishing to continue enrollment at a nonresident school must reapply during these transitions.
- Transportation: Families are responsible for their own transportation arrangements.
- CIF Eligibility: For students in grades 9-12, California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Eligibility Rules apply.
