Heat and Air Quality Advisory - Limited Outdoor Activities for 9/10/24

Dear Baldwin Park Unified Community,

The LA County Public Health Department has issued an Excessive Heat Advisory forecast for the San Gabriel Valley from through the end of the day, October 2nd. Information is attached to help stay healthy and avoid heat illness during extreme heat.

In addition to the heat, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and the National Weather Services is reporting Moderate to Unhealthily Air Quality and Heat Advisory forecast for today through the end of the week.

Due to the extreme heat and poor air quality, the District is LIMITING all outdoor activities, and alternative indoor activities will be available. BPUSD reminds everyone to take precautions to avoid heat-related illness, especially older adults, young children, outdoor workers, athletes, and people with chronic medical conditions who are especially sensitive to negative health impacts from extreme heat.

Thank you for your attention.

Kindly,
Baldwin Park Unified School District
