BPHS Win 2024 Crosstown Showdown Against SVHS

The high anticipated varsity football game, known as the "Battle of the Bell," kicked off with the national anthem performed by a member of the Baldwin Park High School vocal choir ensemble. Both schools’ cheer teams energized the crowd with enthusiastic team welcomes, setting the tone for a spirited evening of community and competition.

The Braves led the scoreboard throughout the first half, while the Dons rallied in the second half, securing a touchdown. Halftime featured impressive performances by the Sierra Vista High School Marching Dons and the Baldwin Park High Braves Entertainment Corps, entertaining fans from both sides.

With a final score of 40-8, Baldwin Park High claimed the coveted bell, marking another chapter in the historic rivalry between the two schools.

Special guests at the game included alumni from both Baldwin Park and Sierra Vista, Baldwin Park Mayor Emmanuel Estrada, City Clerk Christopher Saenz, members of the Baldwin Park Unified School District Board of Education, and other community leaders.

"This game is always a special event that unites our community through friendly competition and school spirit," said Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza. "We are proud of both teams for their dedication and effort."

The Crosstown Showdown remains a celebration of Baldwin Park’s deep-rooted traditions, showcasing the pride and talent of students from both high schools.
