Dear Baldwin Park Unified Community,
Last Friday and this Tuesday evening, there were two separate reports of a male attacking a student as they walked home from school in Baldwin Park. We are asking that students, parents, and staff be on high alert and aware of their surroundings.
Please remain vigilant for the suspect(s) described as male, Hispanic, height of 5’5 to 5’7, 160 pounds, brown eyes, brown hair, bushy eyebrows, age 17 to 20 years old. The suspect(s) were described to have a lanyard keychain in their pocket, and wearing a black shirt, khaki pants, white shoes, and a black beanie folded up. Friday’s incident occurred on Big Dalton Ave. near Central Elementary, and yesterday's incident occurred on Vineland Ave. near Vineland Elementary.
Baldwin Park Unified is collaborating with local law enforcement to increase security presence around school campuses and the surrounding areas. The District strongly encourages students and their families to take extra caution as they are going to and from school, be on the lookout, and contact the Baldwin Park Police Department immediately at 626.960.1955 ext. 0 if you see a person who fits this description. Should you see any suspicious activity or are confronted by a stranger, immediately call 911.
Parents and caretakers please review the safety reminders below and discuss them with your children.
We understand that a safety concern of this nature is unsettling and ask that we work together to keep our community safe. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority.
As always, we thank you for your continued cooperation.
