Baldwin Park Unified is partnering with School Device Coverage (SCD) to insure all District-issued Chromebooks given to BPUSD students as part of this year’s 1:1 device program.
The voluntary plan covers all accidental damage and will protect families in the event that a student’s device is lost or stolen. Device insurance does not cover the student’s charger or the case.
Parents are encouraged to purchase the insurance, but it is optional. For one payment of $32 for the school year, families can file a claim with no deductibles, no added fees and no claim limits.
All that is required is for parents to register their device and pay for the insurance. To register, families will need an email address, student ID number and serial number of the Chromebook.

Open enrollment for the optional device insurance ends on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
