Baldwin Park Unified introduced Sierra Vista High School senior Jerille Delim, Baldwin Park High School senior Nautica Macias and North Park Continuation High School senior Serenity Martinez as its student board members.
Delim, who attended Tracy Elementary and Sierra Vista Middle School, is the varsity captain for the girls’ tennis team for the second year in a row, and has been an Associated Student Body member since her freshman year. She serves as president of the student volunteer group, the LEO Club, as treasurer for the school’s NAMI Club and as president of the Tennis Club.
After high school, Delim plans to study political science and pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer.
“My goal is to be a voice for the student body and inspire more students to become involved in school and our community,” Delim said. “I also want to place a greater emphasis on spreading mental health awareness in any way I can.”
Macias has a passion for politics and government, and after high school she plans to attend Long Beach Community College to study politics and different ideologies. At the moment, her career choice is undecided, but she has always loved the idea of teaching history.
“While being a student board member, I hope to enhance my active listening and communications skills, as well as my leadership skills,” Macias said.
Martinez began her education at Foster Elementary before promoting to Sierra Vista Middle School and Sierra Vista High School. She transferred to North Park Continuation High School in fall 2021.
Martinez is interested in pursuing student leadership opportunities and plans to create an Equality and Advocacy Club at North Park. In her free time, Martinez enjoys playing sports with her siblings and experimenting with new baking recipes.
After graduation, Martinez will pursue a business degree to follow her dream of opening a bakery.
