Baldwin Park Unified has appointed three standout student board members for the 2021-22 school year: Nhi Doan from Baldwin Park High School, Aireon Bonilla from North Park Continuation High School, and Francis Arguien from Sierra Vista High School.
The new student representatives were introduced by Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza during the Sept. 28 Board of Education meeting.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome our 2021-22 student board members,” Dr. Mendoza said. “Each student displays all the qualities of a leader, and their levels of high achievement are inspirational – they will be tremendous representatives for the student body.”
Doan, an accomplished senior at BPHS, boasts a 4.55 GPA and is on track to receive a 5.0 GPA. Prior to attending BPHS, she went to Vineland Elementary and Jones Middle School.
Doan is interested in a career in medicine or engineering, and her top college choices include UCLA, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
Bonilla is a junior at North Park and was highly recommended by her teachers for her great attitude, leadership and dedication on campus. This year, she plans to found the Military Club.
Bonilla also has a passion for drawing, horror novels and video games. After completing high school, she plans to join the U.S. Air Force.
Arguien, a senior at SVHS, serves as president of the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), is a member of ASB and plays on the school’s varsity football team.
“I am honored to represent Sierra Vista and I look forward to working with the District and the Board of Education,” Arguien said.
