Dear Baldwin Park Unified Community,
On May 22, Baldwin Park Unified received updated guidance from the Los Angeles Department of Public Health and the Los Angeles County Office of Education regarding vehicle-based parades and drive-thru events.
The latest guidance from the Department of Public Health provides clarification and greater flexibility for celebrations, which include allowing a person to exit a vehicle to pick up documents such as a diploma. The guidance is similar to others provided in counties throughout California.
Baldwin Park Unified has found creative and innovative ways to celebrate its graduating class, through planned celebrations such as caravans, virtual graduations, student dedications on our high school websites, staff messages, sunset drive-ins and a drive-thru distribution events.
The latest guidance from the County provided yet another way to celebrate our graduates.
We will work with our high schools to determine the best course of action in celebrating our students. Baldwin Park Unified will allow celebrations so long as all precautionary measures are taken to protect our students, our families, and our staff.
The District is very pleased to provide options for our seniors as they complete their high school journeys. We are proud of our scholars – for their dedication, tenacity and resilience as they navigate these uncertain times.
