BALDWIN PARK – Student leaders in Foster Elementary School’s Think Together program led a tour for Michael Funk, Director of the California Department of Education Expanded Learning Division, and Think Together Founder and CEO Randy Barth to explore the many options available to students through the after-school program.
During the site tour on Feb. 7, Baldwin Park Unified’s Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza, along with other BPUSD and Think Together leaders, surveyed the high-quality classes that keep students safe, inspire learning and support working families.
“At Think Together, they help us complete our homework and I always look forward to the lessons they teach us daily,” Foster Elementary fourth grade student leader Aleyda Arreola said. “It’s amazing how the program teachers have time to do this and they’re so polite and respectful to us.”
Foster Elementary’s transitional kindergarteners and kindergarteners practiced reading aloud in pairs while students in upper grades learned about healthy snack options and made berry yogurt parfaits.
Think Together is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1997, that partners with schools to provide expanded learning opportunities to more than 150,000 students across the state.
