You are invited to join us on Friday, October 5, 2018 for our Margaret Heath Day celebration at 8:15 a.m. We will be celebrating Margaret Heath’s birthday. This tradition started in 1951 to honor Margaret Heath’s 90th birthday. At that time, Mrs. Heath requested that students sing patriotic songs, bring flowers, and donate pennies to start a scholarship fund. This scholarship goes to a Baldwin Park High School graduate who attended Margaret Heath Elementary and is now going to college. Over the years, the fundraiser has grown and the celebrations have given Margaret Heath students a sense of the history of Baldwin Park.
